Just a note (19th Feb)

I want to apologise for not posting for a while as I have been quite busy with University work. I have an essay due in the next day or so and have been mainly focussing on that. Once the essay is complete however I have the use of a reading week to take advantage of this blog and add more to the continuing development that is my piece. I attended a performance with my friend David Halliday, called You’re Not Like the Other Girls Chrissy, by Caroline Horton. It was a wonderful piece revolving around the story of her grandmother. I think this is relevant to me as I wish to recount memories of my own life within my piece. I attended her post show discussion and picked up several useful hints as to how she went about creating this piece to perform on stage. It was very insightful. For now though, on with the essay…

Research – Further Rain Sound (8th Feb)

On my quest to find a sound effect for my performance I came across a wonderful website called Rainy Mood. The site is used as a way to help people sleep easier, and also to help people unwind and relax. I find that one of the most relaxing things to do is to sit with my eyes closed and listen to the sound of the rain lashing off the roof it just makes me melt into another dimension. The suggestion that Rain can affect your mood is another idea I have wanted to encompass into my performance along with lights that reflect emotions. I wish to recount my memories somehow with the sound of water as a backdrop to this story.
